This weeks Tuesdays with Dorrie recipe was a nice break from all the super rich desserts lately. It was some awesome naan! Besides turning the oven to 500 during a heat wave, this was wonderful. The cumin seeds weren't my favorite, so next time I'll try the sesame seeds like for the Persian Naan in the book. Overall, it was a success and I'd definitely make it again. We served it with our favorite curried lentil soup from Bon Appetit, which we always add extra carrots to because one is not enough. You can find the naan recipe here or here.
I picked a very hot day to make these and it was just kind of crazy :-)
ReplyDeleteYour naan look great.
Looks good!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a healthier naan option than the fried in butter version.
ReplyDeleteI actually love the cumin seeds but the sesame seeds could be great too!
ReplyDeleteI really didn’t mind turning my oven on to 500°…it was cold and wet the day I made these! Your bread looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I am going to have to check into the soup you mentioned. It sounds like something I should make.
ReplyDeleteI liked sesame seeds more than the cumin. A hot oven in hot weather is not ideal, it´s a good thing the breads were done in a few minutes!
ReplyDeleteI, also, used sesame seeds. The cumin naan did not get eaten Your lentil soup looks yummy, I will be off to look at the site!
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys like the lentil soup!
ReplyDeleteYour meal looks delicious
ReplyDeleteThis dough recipe is a winner and so versatile.
I had them with some more vegetables and were soo good!
I hated cranking the oven up that high with our heat, too, but it was worth it! Your naan looks great!
ReplyDeletelove the combo! it's hard to be motivated to turn the oven on and leave it on for the duration of baking when its hot (and humid) out! :) Great job!
ReplyDeleteLooks good! We love lentil soup and curried lentil sounds wonderful.
